No trip to Panama City is complete without experiencing the engineering marvel that is the Panama Canal. We were lucky and got to witnessing a colossal ship pass through the locks — it was a jaw-dropping spectacle! I’d recommend a private VIP tour if you want to see the canal up close and personal! tour The Miraflores Visitor Center offers an educational and entertaining experience, allowing you to learn about the canal’s construction and its impact on global trade. There is a 40-minute IMAX about the canal that is narrated by Morgan Freeman – I believe it’s mandatory before heading to the Miraflores Locks, but we were able to skip that and head straight to the canal! Don’t miss the opportunity to visit the Panama Canal Museum, which provides a fascinating insight into the history and significance of the Panama Canal.
Panama City isn’t just about history and commerce; it’s also a gateway to breathtaking natural beauty. Ancon Hill, the city’s highest point, offers panoramic views of the skyline and the lush rainforest that envelops the area. It’s a perfect spot for hikers and nature enthusiasts. Albrook Mall offers a vast selection of local and international brands, while Multiplaza Pacific Mall caters to luxury shoppers seeking high-end fashion and dining.
For an unforgettable escape, take a day trip to the San Blas Islands, a remote archipelago in the Caribbean Sea.
