Chicago’s Lakeshore Trail is one of my favorite spots to go run in the city. It’s a pretty unique running path as it straddles The beaches of Lake Michigan and the urban city of Chicago. As it’s finally getting warm enough to enjoy runs outside, Nike has given me another reason to get excited about running – their new Nike React.
I haven’t spoken much about it on social, but I briefly mentioned it in my 2018 New Year post. I’ve been dealing with chronic pain in my shoulder for the past 10 years. I’ve had two surgeries and been to physical therapy over 8 times for the issue – and still, I have daily pain. I can’t play golf, tennis or throw a football. I’m pretty limited in the gym and even carrying around my camera while traveling wears down my shoulder’s endurance. I’m committed to tackling this in 2018 and looked into alternative options. I’m excited as I’m currently undergoing a series of 3 PRP injections (read more about that here) over the month and the only downside is I can’t lift any weights. So that means only cardio for me right now. I’ve been pretty bummed as I haven’t been able to hit the gym at all, but as it’s been warming up here in Chicago, I’m getting excited to get out and run. Nike’s newest running shoe is the Nike React. I was able to test them out last month when Nike held a pop-up class called ‘House of Go’ for the launch of the Nike Reacts. Today (April 19th), they’ve come out with two new colorways ~ Pearl Pink and Cargo Khaki. I’m rocking the latter and love that they already go with most of my workout wardrobe. They are simply amazing. It’s a running shoe with a softer, lighter, and springier cushion on it’s sole. They fit pretty snug, which I like, and have a flyknit top over the sole. They provide crazy comfort and I feel like I can run for miles in them.
