This outfit is a play on an iconic and American classic – Polo Ralph Lauren’s Polo. The Polo shirt has been a spring and summer staple in my closet for as long as I can remember. While there are quite a few variations of the Polo, I’m rocking a Custom Slim Fit Mesh Polo.
I love the trim cut and silhouette of this fit. It definitely is a little tighter around the chest and arms and can be tucked in for a dressier look. It features a ribbed collar, two-button placket, and of course, the signature embroidered pony on the left chest. I’ve paired the polo with a Relaxed Fit Pleated Chino. These chinos are an updated version of something you might find your uncle wearing after the golf course. The relaxed fit leaves quite a bit of room throughout to leg and the party is definitely in the front as the pants feature prominent pleats. These are a staple in your closet as they’ll take you through any occasion that might require pants – casual to classy. I’d pair this with a tee or Chambray Shirt for an easy, effortless look or dress it up with a coat and tie.
The shoes I’m wearing are Polo Ralph Lauren’s Ardenall Suede Monk-Strap shoe. They’re such a great shoe to add to your arsenal of dress shoes. Since these are a darker color of suede (‘Snuff’) they’re going to be quite versatile and I can actually wear these year-round. In the summer months, I’d wear them as I’ve styled them here or with a linen suit. They’d also pair really nicely with a burgundy or navy wool suit in the fall and winter months.
