Kona, Hawaii was pretty unbelievable. I was so excited to be in the sun and wearing shorts — nothing could get in the way of the good island vibes! I wanted to round-up some of my outfits and favorite pieces from my Hawaiian adventure. Island casual was the name of the game – remember, you’re on vacation in the Caribbean or some remote island and unless you’re at a black-tie destination wedding, take it down a few notches – you’re on island time!
I really was into this look for a cocktail hour and dinner one night. The shirt comes from Ledbury and is a linen palm print shirt. Nothing says vacation like linen and it’s perfect for any island you might be venturing to. I could wear this shirt more casually with a bathing suit to the beach or a more “island formal” look like this one. The shoes are from Bruno Magli and I have a feeling I’ll be wearing these often this summer. I love the look of these Picasso Woven Leather Slip-On as I don’t have anything else like them in my closet. The Italian-made Vanician loafers offer a really elevated sense of style that isn’t too stuffy and are perfect for a “dressy” night on the island.

My swimsuit is from Vilebrequin a year or two ago. While they don’t have the same print, they’ve got some really great new ones. Shop my favorite Hawaii-inspired suits:
I don’t really gravitate towards graphic tees or shirts with bold wording on them, but when I came across Hiro Clark shirts, I fell in love with their witty shirts inspired by LA’s dark side. Give them a peep as they’ve come out with quite a few new shirts since I got mine. I loved the idea of shooting this at a black sand beach, but as the closest one was 2 hours away, I settled for a lava field instead ~ oh Hawaii.
These shorts I’m rocking are actually swimming trunks, but I got a quick workout in them one morning. They’re from LA-based FLDKRFT ~ a new clothing brand based on sleek style & affordability. They just launched their flagship collection and I love the fit & length of the shorts (inseam is 5″), they’re U.S. Veteran owned!
