‘Tis the season! The season for office holiday parties, gift exchanges, and black-tie affairs! If you happen to be like me, you love the opportunity to rock your tuxedo – but such events are few and far between. Luckily during the holidays, there are more reasons to celebrate such festive occasions and sport a black tie suit or tuxedo.
To pull this tuxedo together I combined a few of my favorite formalwear pieces from Reiss! This amazing black velvet tuxedo is such a classy piece and a garment every guy should have hanging in their closet, just for the right holiday occasion!
To me, the star of the show is the slick black velvet blazer, the Jude. It’s the first thing that will grab your eye on this outfit and the fit is impeccable (I’m 6′ tall and wearing a 38). It’s a traditional tux jacket with notch lapels with a single-breasted silhouette. I absolutely love this piece. I’ve written about the black Knightsbridge pants before and spoken to their versatility. This is a perfect example of how slim-fit pants can really be dressed up and used in a different context of your closet. The bowtie is the Bryce, a classic black velvet bowtie. It’s a pre-tied bowtie and has just the right amount of fabric to make the tie look natural. Pairing this with a crisp white shirt will really allow this piece to pop! The Mackie is Reiss’ answer to a pleated tuxedo shirt. It features a point collar with front-pleat detailing and comes with black tuxedo buttons to run down the front placket.
Do you have any big holiday parties or black-tie affairs coming up? Let me know if you’re going to be rocking a tuxedo and how you style it!
