Even though it was a cooler and foggy summer day here in Chicago, the beach felt very ‘California winter’ today. While most people steered clear of the beach, I thought it would be the perfect time to head to North Ave. Beach and rock some pieces from a new favorite California menswear designer, Arcady. One of the more unique pieces from Arcady’s summer arrivals is their California Pullover. It’s their take on the ‘Baja Hoodie,’ a staple of west coast ease.
Made with Japanese linen, the pullover is lightweight and breathable – perfect for a summer day on the beach or bopping around town. I tend to stay away from most pullovers or pop-overs since their fit seems to be a bit boxy, but I didn’t feel like I was hanging out in a garbage bag in this piece. The fit is quite tapered, which I really appreciate. There is also a drawstring along the waistline, so if you’d like to give the pullover a little more form you can give it a little cinch. A favorite feature is the zip kangaroo pockets on the front of the garment, giving it a functional and sleek look!
