Earlier this month, I was back in Scottsdale, Arizona for such a fun opportunity. I got the chance to test-drive Hyundai’s new 2020 Sonata and cruise around the deserts of the American Southwest! This was my first time driving a Hyundai Sonata and I was blown away by how nimble and sporty the new sedan was!
I loved being back in Scottsdale, it was so great to escape New York in December for some sunny and warm weather! If you make it to Scottsdale, I can’t recommend the Mountain Shadows Resort enough! Settling into the new 2020 Hyundai Sonata felt great. The interior was comfortable and while it’s design seemed so simplistic, it had a lot of new technologies that were packed-in. The Sonata features a 10.25 touchscreen with navigation and Apple CarPlay/Android Auto. It’s the largest in its class and showcases information & entertainment brilliantly and beautifully. Behind the wheel sits a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster that seamlessly flows together.
One new feature that I never knew I needed was a digital Blind-Spot View Monitor. When you activate either turn signal, the side-view mirror camera shows a video feed of the blind spot that shows up right behind the wheel in the digital instrument panel cluster. This was so helpful and I felt so much safer not having to turn my neck to look towards my blind spot!
The Hyundai Digital Key was such an amazing feature and finally makes your car keys digital! The “key fob” allows the driver to use their phone to unlock the Sonata and start the engine. It’s surprising that this. If you need to lend your car, you can digitally pass the key to family members or friends – all they need is the app and your permission!

- Remote Smart Parking Assist
- Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist with Pedestrian Detection
- Smart Cruise Control with Stop & Go
- High Beam Assist
