Pants are a thing of the past, or at least an item I won’t willingly be wearing until October. It’s shorts season – and if you live in Chicago or New York City, the change in seasons has flipped-on like a light switch. With the hot & humid summer here, shorts are here to stay for the foreseeable future. When I originally discovered and got turned on to Bonobos it was because I was searching for a great chino short that had a great fit and that I could get in a range of colors. My closet had a mismatch of shorts with different lengths, textures, and styles. I wanted one to rule them all. And they did. I’ve been rocking Bonobos for a few years now and they keep outdoing themselves with new products and product categories. Their lineup of shorts now consists of chinos, stretch chino, Anywhere shorts, and Summer Weight Shorts – all with an amazing fit.
Here’s my list of Bonobos’ summer shorts:
I’m rocking a pair of Bonobos’ Washed Chino Short in a faded black. I’m obsessed with the color as they’re not a true black and will wear nicely with lighter colors for summer. You can choose between a 5″/7″/9″/11″ inseam to find the perfect fit. For me the 7″ inseam which is my preferred length – they sit mid-thigh and don’t ride up too much when I’m sitting down. The Ace Green Riviera Short Sleeve has such a rich and vibrant color that makes it perfect for the beach or summer in the city. The lightweight short sleeve button down almost feels light a linen shirt, but it’s 100% cotton and so comfortable. My new summer shoe is the Black Leather Woven Loafer from Topman. They’re super light so they’re a great shoe for the road and breathable due to the nature of the weave.

While we’re on the topic of shorts, we shouldn’t leave out swim shorts. As I’m about to head to the beach this week I wanted to highlight a few as Bonobos also has quite a few great swimsuits this summer. Here’s my selection of 7″ and 5″ swim shorts:
