I’ve been doing quite a bit of running around lately. Most of it has been running errands as I’m prepping for a move. For the other half, I’ve been soaking up these final few days in Chicago. I’m trying to visit and see most of the city again – by foot!
Living close to Lake Michigan has its perks, and one of my favorites is easy to access to Chicago’s Lakefront Running path. It’s 18miles of bike and pedestrian lane that sits between the city and the lake. I’ve gotten my last few shoes from Zappos, the latest is Brooks Running’s new Levitate 2.
This is my first pair of Brooks Running shoes and I’ve been loving my first few runs in them. They feature neutral support with a high energizing cushion and a FitKnit upper that moves along with your foot as you run. The Levitate 2’s DNA AMP midsole technology rebounds all the energy you exert leading to such a soft ride. The shoes are pretty versatile too, and not just an ideal shoe for running. I’m also going to be lifting in them and using them for my HIIT classes at Equinox too!
I’m actually rocking head-to-toe Brooks Running apparel! My shorts are a 7″ Sherpa 2-in-1 Shorts in Asphalt. The fit on these bad boys is great. They’ve got a semi-fitted cut that follows the contours of the body, and for me, (6′) running shorts with a 7″ inseam are what works best for me. These are true running shorts, and ones I wouldn’t rock at the gym because they don’t feature pockets. The shirt is Brooks’ DriLayer Ghost Short Sleeve. After putting it on, I quickly realized the name of the garment all made sense. It’s a short sleeve crew shirt and is one of the lightest shirts I’ve ever worn! I loved how this whole outfit worked together and still let the shoes be the star of the show.
Stay Risky,
