When it comes to my facial hair, lately I’ve been taking the lazy approach. I’ll keep it pretty neat and trimmed, almost a permanent 3-day unshaven shadow, but every once in a while I crave a smooth & clean-shaven face. If you’ve been strolling through the streets of Soho, you’ve probably seen Harry’s Corner Shop on the corner of Houston & Macdougal. It’s been my go-to whenever I’m in New York City and need a quick trim before an event or just for the weekend. Harry’s is one of my favorite shave brands – they’ve got affordable and quality razors and some great shave creams & gels. I picked up a new shaving set at Walmart, they carry the full line of Harry’s shaving products. They even have an exclusive “Surf Blue” model that’s only available at Walmart! I got the Navy Blue Truman– If you follow me on my social channels, you know it’s my favorite color!
Maybe it’s just how I learned and grew up shaving – but I prefer a foaming shave gel when I shave. I’ve been pretty happy with Harry’s Shave Gel I got at Walmart because it’s super-hydrating with aloe. I’ll typically shave once I get out of the shower after the pores are open and I’ve cleaned my face. I didn’t realize this until I went to college and was shaving in front of my buddies, but apparently, I shave really fast and am lucky because I’ve only nicked myself a handful of times. Take into account the directions your facial hair grows – and shave with the grain of your hair. You might get a tad closer of a shave if you go against the grain, but you’re also more likely to cut yourself or get razor burn. C’mon – nobody here wants that! Walmart has the full range of Harry’s shaving products available, including the Walmart-exclusive razor. Here are the shave items that I’m using:
