I’ve been living in Chicago for the past 5 years, and one of my favorite parts of living here is how the city transforms into a festive and urban winter wonderland leading into the holidays. Yes, while the winter really does make it feel like the North Pole at times, it’s all worth it as holiday cheer has everyone in high spirits!
I love how this head-to-toe look from Lucky Brand came together. I started with a pretty standard base ~ the denim. The 121 Heritage Slim Jean is a great cut, not too ‘skinny-jean’ but not a bootcut either. This is typically what I’m looking for in terms of the fit of my jeans. It’s got a light distressed washed, and perfect for the fall and winter. I paired that with the perfectly simple grey Strong Boy Thermal Crew -it has a slight waffle texture that adds a little something to the outfit. I threw on the Saturday Stretch Heritage Plaid Shirt for an added layer. I also love how this shirt is flannel with snap buttons – making it a great layer or stand-alone! For me, the hero of this outfit is Lucky’s B-15 Flight Jacket. This aviator jacket with its bomber cut and shearling collar is such a great piece. I love it – and the Dusky Olive color keeps the jacket on the subtler side! For me, a coat that I can wear both in Chicago as a layer and back home in Dallas as my main coat is my most versatile piece of the holidays!

Here are a few of my favorite things to do in Chicago during the holidays:
- Grab some hot chocolate at Ghirardelli and get some Christmas shopping done on Michigan Ave
- Go ice skating at the Maggie Daley Ice Skating Rink
- Sip mulled wine and shop at the German Chriskindlemarket
- Go to the Christmas Parade and watch the lighting of the Official City Christmas Tree
- Bring a blanket and walk through Zoo Lights at the Lincoln Park Zoo – also with some spiked cider!
From coast to coast, this holiday season Lucky Brand has gone to some of their favorite cities to discover new traditions people in each city. They’ve asked me to participate in the holiday campaign, and it looks like I’m good company – hiii Blake! Check out more of the #MyLuckyHoliday campaign here!
Stay Risky,
