I’m all for dressing things up a bit for the holidays, but by now most of you know I’m not wearing 3-piece suits and Italian leather shoes daily. My style is much more casual – because it’s comfortable. I wanted to share a few of my favorite casual looks as a reminder that just as great it is dressing up for the holidays, Christmas can be comfy and cozy just as well! I pulled together two ideal casual Christmas-inspired outfits from Express. The first is a laid-back look featuring textures. When layering, I like to keep it interesting by adding complementary colors or juxtaposing textures together. The soft gray Plaid Cotton Flannel shirt features double-breasted pockets and could be worn buttoned-up as a shirt, or left open as a casual layer. Underneath I paired a Waffle Knit Crew Neck Tee. I’m usually not one for a baseball/athletic cut tee – or read for that matter – but I really love how the red and gray sat together. This outfit is just about as comfortable and simple as it gets for us guys!

I can confidentially say I didn’t own a single cardigan until this piece – and I’m not entirely sure why! But I’m totally into them now! This Shawl Collar Cardigan is a beautiful burgundy and a really handsome look. The thick knit sweater has a tailored shawl collar that’s not too much of a statement with a 3-button down the front. The knit hand pockets and ribbed cuffs are my favorite part of this sweater. I paired it with a great Classic Small Check Button Down in the same deep burgundy.
