I recently took to the streets of Soho in Manhattan last week – it’s one of my favorite neighborhoods in the city. There’s so much character and “New York feels” in Soho. It was about. In this post, I’m wearing a head-to-toe look from Express ~ besides my boots. I love this classic fall look that I put together as each piece works so well with items I already have in my closet. I feel like it’s a staple “John” look – classic and urban with a little bit of prep. I love love the fit on this Navy Wool Blend Topcoat. It’s got a shorter length that hits right below the waist and has great form as it’s a pretty trim fit. The coat is so classic and preppy with a nautical vibe… I feel like it could go with any leather shoe or white sneaker. The exaggerated collar on this dapper coat is one of my favorite things, and I think every time I wear it I’m going to have the collar popped.
The pants are Express’ Skinny Stretch Chino, and so comfortable(I’m actually wearing them right now as I write this). I like to keep colors pretty neutral and earthy in the winter ~ I’ll stick with black/grey, deep blues, and forest greens.. so this outfit really has it all. The forest green chinos go so well with the navy topcoat, and I’ll probably pair them with a black sweater or coat throughout the winter. I’m rocking a denim button-down and pulled the look together with a great plaid scarf.
