West Village is one of the most romantic backdrops for New York and my favorite places in the city in the fall. It’s also my favorite time of year for layers…sweaters. This is a simple and perfect transitional look for the fall. And I’ll be wearing it well into the holidays. This week I’m in NYC and couldn’t have planned the timing of the fall weather more perfectly. I’m rocking a simple but sophisticated waffle-knit crew sweater from Banana Republic. It’s made of a soft Merino wool and cotton blend. It’s a chunkier knit than a standard waffle-knit sweater and will definitely keep me warm. I really like the simplicity of the sweater, and the detailing on the crewneck and elbow pads. A sweater like this really elevates any jeans or casual look. I threw on a black denim jacket to complement the sweater, and let the texture of the sweater really pop. I paired them with a slim black wash jean and black Chelsea boots to pull the look together. Lately, whenever I feel in doubt about what I should match with a sweater, black jeans and a black boot have been my go-to. And when in New York, black is always a good choice.
