I was suppressing the seasons by over-staying my welcome in Los Angeles the past couple of weeks. It was a rude awakening coming back to to Chicago greeted with mid-40ºs and piles of golden-brown leaves already on the ground. Luckily, I got my hands on some amazing fall pieces from American-made brand Ball and Buck – and they were more than fall-fitting.
Elaine’s Coffee Call is the closest coffee shop to my apartment and I’m spoiled for it being so accessible. It’s located at the base of Hotel Lincoln, an eclectic boutique hotel. During the summer and early fall months, one of my favorite things to grab a coffee and check out the Green City Market farmer’s market directly across the street. I started out the morning by grabbing coffee in the Premium Hunter’s Shirt with Glade Corduroy. I love the fall vibes this shirt embodies. The shirt has corduroy-reinforced shooting shoulder and elbow patches and the muted browns and blue accents mean that this shirt will go with pretty much every fall piece in my closet.
This second button-down is the Scout Shirt, Smithgal, and much like the first, a very versatile fall shirt. I like how casual you can make this look, and I left it un-tucked as I went to the farmer’s market to check out the new fall produce. It also has a reinforced shooting shoulder and elbow patches that are a bit more subtle so they don’t stand out as much.
The jeans I’m rocking throughout this post are Ball and Bucks’ 6-Point Selvage Denim made in Los Angeles, CA. I love the details of the jeans such as camo-lined pockets and hunter-orange accents on the stitching. The Perfecto Leather Jacket is the product of a collaboration between Ball and Buck and Schott NYC, the most iconic and classic American leather jacket brand. It’s lined with B&B’s Signature Plaid and features some small design elements that leave B&B’s mark on the piece. The hardware (buttons, zipper) are all custom Ball and Buck as well as the venting eyelets located in the underarm and the perforated “B&B in the front placket. It’s a beautiful jacket with enough movement in the arms and warmth in the core to be the perfect fall layer.
Stay Risky,
– John
