As August arrives, I’m sad to see summer slowly slipping away. It always seems to be such an awaited but short-lived season here in Chicago. If you’ve seen my closet, it’s pretty obvious I own just about every Pantone shade of blue. So of course I’ve been living in these indigo linens from J. Crew all summer.
I’ve actually never owned linen shirts or pants before – and I’m converted. I’ll will be wearing linens every summer going forward. I picked up this basic “amalfi blue” Irish Linen shirt at J. Crew along with two other similar styles, which of course were blue as well. And I’ve been LIVIN’ in them.
The Délavé Irish linens from J. Crew come from Baird McNutt. The linens are put through a special (“Top Secret”) dying & washing process the give the fabric a faded feel and look. I try not to dress like a blueberry, but when you’ve got a nice chambray or light blue linen shirt go ahead and pair it with other shades of blue or navy. I’m wearing a 7″ Stanton Short from J. Crew. They’ve got a trim fit with no pleats, and go with just about everything. This is a very typical go-to outfit for me. It’s simple, but I look (somewhat) put together.
