This year I attended American Field, a roving pop-up market of vendors and products made-in-America. While there, I was exposed to so many great new brands and companies that are all designed + produced here in America. Two of the favorites that I came across were Sharply and Kodenko – and both happened to based on the West Coast.
A staple for me this winter has been Sharply’s Rob Crew Neck Henley. I got it in black and love the relaxed fit. Because it’s a henley I can wear it running errands or dress it up a bit and go out for drinks with friends in the same shirt. Can’t beat that versatility. The secret to why the top is so soft (and makes me never want to take it off!) is the brushed cotton.. it makes a world of a difference that you can feel. Kodenko‘s jeans and pants are comfortable and soft, and I told Nick (the founder and designer of Kodenko) that they felt like butter. And I meant that in the best way possible! I’m rocking the Trouser Pant Garment-Dyed in Black. The pant is a mid-rise and has a great slim-fit to it. They are so soft and feel like butter because they’re made from imported Italian Twill. There’s a slight stretch to the trouser as well, which allows for some flexibility and movement. An added little feature that I love is that these are machine-washable.. one less thing to tote to & from the dry cleaners! Stay Risky,
– John
