Last week while back home in Dallas, Tony – of the subtle things – and I caught up and over some coffee at Houndstooth Coffee. Naturally, we decided to go shopping. While pursuing, we came across a pair of AG Graduate Slim Straight Pants that caught both of our eyes.
Tony is the man! He’s a Dallas-based photographer, menswear blogger, and model – all-around rad dude, and busy guy! We’re also both signed to the same agency in Dallas (what-up Campbell Agency!!). Anyways, we decided to challenge each other to style these rust-colored pants in different ways, in our own fashions. Here’s how I styled mine:
Overall I kept my look pretty casual. I’m sporting something I would run around town doing errands in, or would comfortably go out with friends in. I’m wearing a crisp and simple long-sleeve sweater from Rag and Bone. The waffled texture adds some depth to the look but doesn’t distract or take away from the burnt-orange pant.. the real star of the show. I added a Theory ‘Yost’ Canvas Jacket as my final layer to stay warm and complete the look. I fell in love with this jacket. It’s fit and functionality is unmatched for a canvas jacket. Unfortunately, I can only wear the coat in the warmer ‘transitional’ months as it won’t cut it in the Chicago winter.
I’m a pretty big advocate for Clarks Desert Boot, and I’m kind of surprised this is the first time I’ve talked about them on RJ. What’s not to love about them? They are lightweight, formal – but can be dressed down, comfortable and durable. I’ve got three different pairs, and wear them year-round. This pair is the Beeswax leather style and a perfect fit for fall. I waterproof them just in case I am wearing them and get caught in some snow in the fall/winter, but they’re definitely not a boot I’ll be wearing if it’s already heavily snowing outside.
