Spring is still a few weeks away from hitting Chicago, but it was definitely in full effect last week in Mexico City! Down in Mexico, I teamed up with Macy’s Bar III to sport some suits from their spring collection and they had me feeling fancy & floral! I had been through Mexico city dozens of times visiting my family’s house in Cuernavaca, a town just an hour south of Mexico City, but had never spent any time in Mexico City. It was an overload of bright colors, textures, amazing food, and the nicest people — be expecting a City Guide shortly! I stayed in the Condesa neighborhood with some friends, and we fell in love with this cute & quiet area. It’s full of boutiques, charming restaurants, character, and flowers!
This Cobalt Slim-fit Suit is classic. I love the faint windowpane details, and it can really be worn year-round. But to give it the spring feels, I paired it with a Floral Print Shirt and pink tie. The shirt is also slim fitting and features a pretty subtle floral print. I didn’t want the patterns of the suit & shirt to clash, but because both are not “loud,” they work to complement each other. Pink + blue is a great spring color combination and one I’ll be featuring a few times this season. I love the pop of tan leather from the Carrick Monk Strap as they balance the look, drawing the eyes to the feet as well. Pro-tip: go sock-less in the spring and summer when you can! I’m wearing something with this suit that I typically don’t grab at ~ a pocket square! This adds a clean sophistication to the suit and has the cutest hummingbirds on it!

I kept the same spring concepts as with the cobalt suit and rearranged them for a different kind of spring look with this Light Gray Suit. This suit, again, could potentially be worn year-round. If I’m going to invest in a suit, I want it to be flexible and don’t want it to be hanging dormant on a hanger for half the year. Since the suit is somewhat simpler, I was able to go a little louder with the Coral Blue Floral Print Dress Shirt. Not that it’s *crazy,* but I really dig how the bright floral shirt pairs with the neutrality of the gray suit. I added a bold but simple pink striped tie to this outfit to pull together this clean spring look
